Whirlwind Golf Club's Devil's Claw Course is located at Wild Horse Pass near Chandler, Arizona, just south of Phoenix Sky Harbor airport in the foothills of the Sierra Estrella Mountains. Designed by Gary Panks, the course is set on land shaped by desert canyons and is sensitively designed to preserve the cultural heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. It incorporates native vegetation such as cottonwood, mesquite, saguaro, and palo verde trees along with native grasses and rolling terrain. Whirlwind Golf Club has hosted the LPGA's Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass, held in late March each year.
