The West Course at Warren Valley Golf Course in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, was designed by Scottish architect Donald Ross, who was engaged in 1922 to lay out the property then known as Hawthorne Valley. Its first nine holes opened to the public on June 30, 1923, with the second nine following on July 2, completing an 18-hole layout measuring over 5,000 yards. The course plays over rolling terrain with mature landscape along the banks of the middle Rouge River, which comes into play on seven holes. Warren Valley is located 19 miles from downtown Detroit and 10 miles from DTW airport, and is operated by Revive Golf Management in cooperation with the City of Dearborn Heights.
