Warren Valley's East Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at this public Donald Ross-designed facility in Dearborn Heights, about 19 miles from downtown Detroit and 10 miles from DTW airport. The East side opened to the public on April 11, 1925, expanding the club—originally known as Hawthorne Valley—to 36 holes, and in 1929 it was briefly operated separately as the private Thorncliffe Country Club before returning to the Warren Valley name in 1934. The property features rolling terrain and mature landscape along the banks of the middle Rouge River, though the river comes into play on holes of the West course.
