Maple Creek Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis opened in 1961 as Heather Hills Country Club, designed by Pete and Alice Dye as their first-ever 18-hole course. It was renamed Maple Creek Country Club in 1989 and is recognized by golf historians as Pete Dye's inaugural design. After financial struggles led to a 2001 sale, longtime member Dave Bego purchased the club in 2006, renovating the golf course and clubhouse while inviting Pete Dye back in 2007 to consult on course modifications. The club also added a new pavilion for events and renovated its pool facilities, and remains family-owned by the Begos today.
