Brendonwood Country Club is a private, nine-hole golf course within Brendonwood Common, a 350-acre residential community on Indianapolis's northeast side that was established in 1917 and planned by Charles S. Lewis with landscape architect George E. Kessler. The surrounding neighborhood, developed as part of the City Beautiful movement, is characterized by hills, dense woods, and streams, and its golf course was among the improvements under way by 1920. Alongside the course, the club offers a pool, tennis and basketball courts, and a playground, and hosts events through the year including a celebration of the annual opening of the golf course, camp outs, and holiday parties.
