Old Oakland Golf Club began in 1962 when a group of golf enthusiasts purchased a dairy farm north of Oaklandon to build an 18-hole course, designed by Charles Maddox and built by hand with PGA Professional Jack Keesling and Don Street, opening for play by 1965. In 1987, developer Joe Dawson redesigned the course with input from Michael Hurdzan, expanding it to 27 holes by 1994. The clubhouse was rebuilt in 2014, and the club has been owned since 2016 by businessman Steve Sterrett. Located at 11611 E. 75th Street in Indianapolis, the club has hosted notable golfers over the decades, including Fuzzy Zoeller, who set an IHSAA tournament record there in 1970.
